Nanyuki Children's Home Easter Event, 2016 Project
So here's what transpired for Juliet's Jewels project in Africa during Easter a week ago. Mickey Kitonga who graciously undertook this endeavor that's 178 Kms away from Nairobi was able to shop for us and the vendors whom he purchased from were so taken up by what we were doing that they reduced their prices and this is what we were able to get for A/C Migwani Mentally and physically challenged home where 95% are orphans. 100 mosquito nets (very much needed as several have been hospitalized for malaria ), 63 sandals (look like crock style), clothes for everyone from a thrift store, a much needed water purifier, a good Easter meal and food rations. Check out the photos. We are so excited to be able to share and thank you to those who contributed for my Birthday (you know who you are) and a big thank you to Mickey Kitonga, Janno Lish and team. Together we can make an immediate change in the lives of those who really need it. I mean just look at their faces.
Nanyuki Children's Home Charity Event, 200 miles outside of Nairobi 2015 Project
Juliet's Jewels was part of the Nanyuki Children's home Charity event, 200 miles outside Nairobi where they are 110 kids and food is their biggest shortage so this Christmas with Mickey Kitonga and his friends of charity we helped provide food rations. Thank you for all who support Juliet's Jewels and also to those who contributed extra to this event. Anytime is a time to give and it's especially rewarding to give to those who could never give back. Whatever generosity each of us extend this holiday season, may the merit ripen in others.
Tree House Children's Home, Nairobi 2015 Project
Juliet's Jewels Helps feeds 32 orphans at Tree House Children's home in Nairobi, Kenya and buys rations to last them a semester. A big thank you to Mickey Kitonga who makes this possible for me to do this. Here's what he writes; "It was great having time with the kids, cooking for them, serving them and listening to them.
This is what a 9 year old orphan had to say: "I have never met Dawa, but I can tell she is an angel, I wish I could hug her right now. tonight I'm going to sleep smiling and happy, because she just made my day"
At some point the owner of the orphanage got so emotional that he shed tears."
I hereby dedicate my life to feeding those so much less fortunate. May I always be able to do so until there is no more hunger. Together we all can. - Dawa Juliet Sangmu
